A continued artistic partnership with acclaimed Metropolitan Opera mezzo-soprano Chrystal E. Williams an a program that celebrates the collaboration between the sexes in poetry and song with art songs that have been underrepresented in music history. Get tickets now.

This progressive integration of thematic content and musical texture will include H.T. Burleigh’s “Five Songs of Laurence Hope”; Trois Mélodies by Pauline Viardot; a pairing of “Troubled Water” and “The Negro Speaks of Rivers” by Margaret Bonds (original text by Langston Hughes); as well as spirituals by Margaret Bonds, Rev. Dr. Lena J. McLin, and Undine Smith Moore, the “Dean of Black Women Composers.”

The performance will be followed by a Q&A with the artists.
